About Astero Pump Controllers & Panels

A pump controller protects your pump and automates the plant. Dry running is the single biggest cause of pump failure in water treatment — a controller that senses no-water condition and cuts power pays for itself the first time it acts. We supply Astero pump controllers, RO control panels, level controllers and float switches.

What a good controller does

It provides dry-run protection (stops the pump when the sump or feed tank is empty), auto start-stop based on tank level, overload and single-phasing protection, and in RO panels, sequencing of the feed pump, high-pressure pump, dosing pump and flush valve. Without sequencing, a high-pressure pump can start against a closed valve or run without feed — both damage the pump and the membranes.

Choosing by HP rating

Controllers are rated by motor HP and phase. Match the controller to the actual motor nameplate, not to the pump you plan to buy later. A controller rated below the motor will nuisance-trip or burn; one rated far above will not protect properly. For three-phase plants, confirm the panel includes phase-failure and phase-reversal protection — a reversed phase runs a centrifugal pump backwards and it will not deliver rated flow.

Level control done right

Use float switches or level controllers so the plant fills the overhead tank automatically and stops when full. Mount floats where turbulence will not swing them, and keep the cable run away from power cables to avoid false triggering. In RO plants, an overhead tank level switch that stops the plant when the tank is full also prevents needless membrane cycling.
